The Sedona pattern was designed by HF Coors' master artist after a visit to Sedona, Arizona -- one of the most visually striking landscapes in the American Southwest. The palette is drawn directly from Oak Creek Canyon: the rich sandstone browns and reds of the canyon walls, the bright turquoise of the mineral veins running through exposed boulders, the gold of the copper deposits that define the region. The exterior band of each plate represents Arizona's copper reserves. The interior ring is the Sleeping Beauty turquoise, prized by collectors. The small green and red dots within the turquoise band are the artist's interpretation of seed pods -- the determined plant life that grows in the harsh desert.
This is a pattern with a specific place and a specific story. It is not a generic Southwestern aesthetic. It is a careful observation of a particular landscape, translated into glaze and form by an artist who knows the territory. Every piece is made in Tucson, Arizona, where that landscape is part of daily life.

Our red and orange glazes require trace cadmium for color, but we only use encapsulated cadmium, safely sealed within zircon crystals so it cannot leach or transfer into food.
