The four fish motif is one of the most recognized compositions in the Mimbres tradition, four fish arranged in a radial pattern that fills the interior of a bowl. The design is both decorative and structural, using the circular form of the vessel as part of the composition. At platter scale, the motif reads with the full graphic power of the Mimbres tradition.
